IZZY + BLOOMSBURY

IZZY + BLOOMSBURY

Tell us a little bit about your dreamy wedding story?

Our wedding ceremony took place in Winchester Register Office, with just our families and closest friends in attendance. We chose to keep our ceremony small as we wanted that part of the day to feel super personal and intimate.

We had our wedding reception on the farm my husband’s family have been farming for three generations. The location has so much meaning to us for that reason, and also because it’s where we got engaged last August!

We wanted our wedding to feel relaxed, fun and not overly formal. Throughout the planning process, we based our decisions on how to make sure our guests would be comfortable and have a good time. We also made choices that genuinely reflected who we are and felt right for us, not just what was traditional or what we thought we should be doing. We had a lovely family friend do our flowers
I wore the Suzanne Neville Bloomsbury dress, which I loved so much as soon as I saw it! I’d tried on so many dresses by that point and had a pretty clear idea of what I was looking for. I loved its mikado silk fabric and how full the skirt was. I knew it was definitely a strong contender, but it wasn’t until I’d left the boutique and spent a few days thinking about it that I was sure it was the one!

I wore the dress with a detachable bow by Justin Alexander at the back (though I ended up not detaching it at all because I loved it so much). In the evening I changed into a Jenny Packham dress which was a little bit lighter and easier to dance in!

My amazing veil was from the Anna Bridal collection, my shoes were from Perfect Bridal and the jewellery was Monica Vinader (as well as a diamond ring of my great grandmother’s which was my something old).
Tell us about your dress shopping at Anna Bridal, what was your stand out moment?
Anna & Kirsty were both lovely and made me feel so at ease. They listened really carefully to everything I said and went out of their way to help me. Anna told me that my dress would find me and she was right! The boutique itself is so beautiful and full of the most incredible dresses, I loved every visit.
Do you remember your ‘Yes Moment’What drew you to the gown? How did you know it was the one?
I’m an indecisive over-thinker so it took me a few days to be totally sure! But it was the only dress that had made me feel emotional when I tried it on, and I think that told me everything I needed to know! I’m so glad I chose it, it was the perfect dress for me.
What advice would you give to other brides when shopping for their dress?
Don’t take too many people with you! We all have different tastes and it’s impossible to please everyone, listening to your own instincts and choosing the dress that you really love is the most important thing.

And be open minded! I was set on a strapless dress initially, but am so glad I tried on different things and found my dress.

A note from all of us at Anna Bridal:
As soon as we added that beautiful bow to Bloomsbury, we just knew it was the one — it felt so you. Seeing everything come together and watching your confidence and excitement grow with each visit was such a joy. You were a dream to style and it means the world to us that you chose Anna Bridal to be part of your story. Wishing you and your lovely husband all the love and happiness in the world — we’ll always remember your wedding with a big smile.
With love always,

Anna & the Anna Bridal Team x
